  Why the Watchtowers "War" argument is totally bogus

  from my own personal experience the watchtowers position on war always appeared to be one of the most difficult issues to navigate.

  a number of times when i was first leaving the wts i spoke with jws who all used this argument to show me how "wrong" i was about the "truth".

  while i knew the watchtowers arguments where wrong, i had a very difficult time figuring out exactly why it was wrong.

  proplog the biggest problem is at best your argument from the bible for not going to war is flimsy. It is no different then Drew's argument. You don't and can't know for a fact if Christ was against war personally, or if Paul, Peter, James or any other apostle was. Just as Drew will not and will probably never know how JW's would react having to govern themselves. Either way both your arguments are good arguments. It's just splitting hairs.

  hey everyone, my name is erich and i'm 19 and i have just suffered a break up with my jehovahs witness girlfriend.

  we dated for over two years and we recently broke up.

  i broke up with her because she was sad that she wasn't true to her religion and i felt terrible i was keeping her from it.

  Sounds to me like she lost her Virginity before her trip to Croatia. Guilt got the best of her and she may be trying to save face.

  Good thread. One easy thing to point out which completely derails their whole argument is that of Acts 10 where Cornelius is used by God despite being a highly regarded soldier. Of course we all know the JW's refuse to read scriptures like that, "it was a different time then".

  it seems that no current jw's can answer this for me ?

  they seem to avoid the question like the plague and i dont know why ?

  is there any current jw's out there that know this answer ?.

  Well according to JW's he is simply ruling over earth, in a very uh next door neighbor watching your house sort of way. You know he will call the cops if and when he feels like investigating what all that noise is about. I just don't see how based on most Christian theology there would be a problem with a god doing this.
